Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar hosts CME program on oral health

JAMMU, Nov 23: A Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on “Dental Sciences & Oral Health” was organized today at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, drawing the participation of 60 Dental Surgeons from the districts of Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri and Reasi.
The event featured an opening ceremony followed by a series of scientific sessions addressing key domains of modern dentistry. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director Health Services Jammu, who lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of Dr Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director Dentistry, Dr Narinder Singh Bhatial, Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, and Dr Rohit Kohli, Senior Consultant Dentistry.
In his inaugural address, the Director highlighted the significant contributions of Dental Surgeons in advancing patient care and encouraged them to take on administrative responsibilities to further strengthen public health services.
The scientific sessions covered a spectrum of clinical subjects. Dr Ajay Gupta, Associate Professor IGGDC Jammu, delivered a detailed lecture on “Fundamental of Post and Core.” This was followed by a session on “Facial Infections” by Dr Amrit Pal Singh, Assistant Professor IGGDC Jammu.
Dr Israr, Consultant GMC Rajouri, spoke on the critical management of “Maxillofacial Injuries,” while Dr Rohit Lahori, Pain & Palliative Care Specialist, presented insights on “Trigeminal Neuralgia.”
Additionally, Dr Rohit Kohli, Senior Consultant Dentistry, discussed the advances in “Osseo Integration in Dentistry,” and Dr Bhavneet Kaur, Consultant Dentistry, concluded the academic segment with her talk on “Pedodontic Sutras.”
