Govt high on speech-making, low on performance: Bhalla

JAMMU, Apr 20: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today slammed Coalition Government for poor deliverance with utter failure on its part to address and redress the genuine urges and aspirations of the people of the State and to redeem its promises.
Bhalla said this while addressing block level meeting of  Block-9 near Green Belt park area today. He said the Government has been high on rhetoric and low on delivery with all its tall claims, airy slogans and loud pronouncements having fallen flat.
“Despite BJP claimed liberal central funding and a plethora of Centrally-sponsored schemes announced to support the infrastructural development of the State, the delivery on the ground has been negligible. The politico-constitutional apparatus has collapsed and the administrative machinery completely paralyzed and the faith of the common man has been completely shaken,” Bhalla alleged.
The meeting was held to deliberate and discuss the socio- political developments due to wrong policies of PDP- BJP Coalition in the State, here today. It was presided over by Jammu district president Anil Chopra. The meeting, threadbare, discussed the developments arising due to the misrule and wrong policies of the State Govt and expressed concern over the callous attitude of the Govt towards the basic issues concerning people. Prominent among those present on the occasion include district president Anil Chopra, Dr Ramakant Khajuria, BB Gupta, Rajnish Sharma, Puneet Arora, Gaurav Chopra, OP Sharma SP Sapolia, Rk  Goel, Naresh Mani, Parshotam Mehar, Camres David, Adriya Dogra, Tiles Gill, Parveen Singh, Amrit Bali, Gaurav Kapoor, Sanjay Gupta, Diwan Chand, Gopal, Jodh Singh Soni, Munish Mahajan, Davinder Singh and Rakesh Bhagat. On this occasion several prominent persons also joined Congress party.
Bhalla said that the situation in Jammu & Kashmir was “alarming” and attacked the Central and State Governments, saying the repeated incidents of attacks was a result of “weak and flawed” policies to deal with cross-border terror aided and abetted by Pakistan. He  said that the present coalition partners have failed to respect their respective mandate of the people as they made a complete U-turn on their propagated policies and ideologies, for the sake of sharing power which has exposed the double standards of two parties.
Chopra also made mention of the tall announcements made by the BJP during elections none of which has materialized so far.
