MENDHAR, May 21: A Govt Middle School (GMS) at Gohlad in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch is without water supply and toilet facility while its land is being grabbed by some locals.
The villagers including Shamim Ahmed Khan, Panch Halqa Panchayat Mustafa Nagar Uper Gohlad in Tehsil Mendher urged the District Administration Poonch and SDM Mendhar to visit the Government Girls Middle School Mohalla Khokharn and see on the spot the worst condition of the school. He pointed out that toilet complex of GMS is totally lying defunct due to non- availability of water supply and the drinking water is not available in the school.
The children of the school are facing problems. The mid day meal kitchen is also lying in very worst condition and the old building of the school is totally damaged. The school authorities are also not paying much attention towards the basic problems of the school. Some elements are also grabbing the land of the school day by day in connivance of the insiders. The cattle and cow dung, are usually seen in the school premises. Some people also dump material in the school premises. Some people park their vehicles in the school compound. Head of the School and ZEO concerned are least bothered. They sought the intervention of SDM, DC and CEO Poonch into the matter. The 16 Kanal and 10 Marla land of this school is being grabbed and the concerned staff and ZEO/ ZEPO are silent over the issue.
