JAMMU, Mar 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a Technical Appraisal Committee (TAC) to vet the specifications for the implementations of the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) Project in the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC).
As per an order, the panel would be headed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) JaKeGA, with State Information Officer, National Informatics Centre, J&K, Director incharge NIELIT, J&K, Dr Maroof Naeem Qadri, Scientist-E and incharge Director, Directorate of ITSS, University of Kashmir, Dr Janib-Ul-Bashir, Assistant Professor, Department of IT, NIT, Srinagar, and Dr Mrinmoy Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, ITT Jammu as Members and Under Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department as Member Convener.
Joint Director (Planning), Transport Department shall be the single point of contact (SPOC) for the TAC, the order said.
The committee has been asked to submit its report to Information Technology Department within a period of 45 days.
Further, it has been ordered that Member-Convener shall coordinate with all the members of the Committee for timely convening of meeting(s) and to ensure timely appraisal/vetting of the document(s).
The Committee has been mandated to examine and vet the specifications for the project in a comprehensive manner, covering technical, financial, administrative, legal and operational aspects.
It will also assess whether the objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines and outcomes proposed in the specifications are clearly defined, realistic and aligned with the approved policy framework and project enrichments.
The committee has also been tasked with scrutinizing the technical architecture, design parameters, standards, interoperability, scalability, security provisions and sustainability aspects proposed in the DPR, and ensuring adherence to prevailing Government standards.
