Govt focused on improving road connectivity: Ganga

JAMMU, Nov 16: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today asserted that better road connectivity is top priority of the present dispensation and focus is being laid on the upgrading and improving the road networks in the State.
The Minister said this while kick starting blacktopping work of 4.2 km road from Sarore Adda to Ratnal under City Roads Scheme and the work is being executed by Public Works Department (R&B) at an estimated cost of Rs 2.03 crore.
While speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Government is laying emphasis to improve road network by linking internal roads with National Highways. “Centre Government has sanctioned liberal funding for development projects to ensure overall development of the State”, the Minister said, adding that roads are the lifeline which will change the socio-economic landscape of the State and nation on whole.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to complete the work in fixed timeline and said that there is no compromise on quality of works.
Reiterating the commitment of the Government for the overall development of the State, the Minister said that a comprehensive plan has been formulated for upgradation and expansion of basic facilities to provide all infrastructural facilities to the people and sought their cooperation in implementing the development programs at the ground level.
