JAMMU, July 3: Shri Ram Sena castigated National Conference-Congress Coalition Government for not installing the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Bhagat Singh Chowk in the City of Temples till date.
In a handout issued today, State president Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan said, “It is called Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk and does not have statue or bust of the martyr despite pictures. Just a board has been put there declaring the Chowk as Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk.”
Jammu Municipal Corporation has though put a water cooler there, he added.
“Is it enough to give respect to a martyr, who sacrificed his life for the country? State Government particularly Jammu based Ministers and Members of Legislative Assembly seem to be so busy that they have no time to put up a statue of the legendary martyr at the Chowk named after him,” said Rajiv Mahajan.
“When the statues of other martyrs have been installed at other Chowks, why the statue of Bhagat Singh has not been installed at this Chowk? Is this not discrimination. If yes, then why the authorities are not concerned about installing a statue here,” asked Rajiv Mahajan.
