SAMBA, Dec 20: J&K Private Schools Association (JKPSA), District Samba today held a meeting chaired by Kulbir Singh, district president of the Association.
Speaking in the meeting he quoted orders issued by Fee Fixation & Regulation Committee (FFRC) for private schools and said that there is exploitation of owners of private schools’ due to number of bottlenecks and delay in reopening of the schools for physical classes in J&K. He also demanded the Government to constitute single Committee for the inspection of private schools instead of two separate committees to avoid the delay as well as harassment to the schools.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Charak said that online mode of education is not possible for those who belong to poor families as they don’t have smart phones. Moreover, the parents are worried about the future of their children as they (children) are not studying properly in the absence of the teacher physically. There are some people who are having two or three children, studying in different classes. They are always complaining that they can’t afford smart phones for their children. In addition to this the private schools are also facing big problem to manage their school buses used for transportation as the Government is charging all the pending fees viz. Token Tax, Permit Fee, Fitness Fee etc. with late fee if not paid in due time. It is not understood that if the school buses were not on roads for the last two years then how could the Government charged the fees.
It is pertinent to mention here that on one hand the Government restricts the private schools to take transport fees from the parents and on the other hand they are charging everything.
JKPSA Samba demanded immediate withdrawal of all orders issued by FFRC on hit and trial policy for private schools. It also appealed to all the designated members of JKPSA to attend the peaceful protest on December 24, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Press Club, Jammu.
