BISHNAH, Mar 21: Senior Congress leader and member Pradesh Congress Executive Committee, Mohinder Bhardwaj has warned people against the growing tendency of the ruling dispensations in Delhi and in the State to divert attention from the burning problems being faced by them through raking up flimsy-emotional issues.
Addressing an impressive meeting of Congress functionaries and workers of the area here today, Bhardwaj said the BJP led Government at the Centre and it’s coalition in the State are in perpetual election mode and are busy only handing over false promises without fulfilling earlier commitments.
He asked the party leaders and rank and file to remain cautious against such tendencies of the BJP-PDP combine and aggressively counter their false propaganda being unleashed in the name of development.
” It is our duty to explain to the people about the ground realities which portray a dismal picture as people all over particularly in Bishnah Assembly segment are suffering due to neglect of developmental aspects,” Bhardwaj maintained.
He said the pathetic conditions of roads, irrigation network, canals in particular, poor water and power supply, deficient health care facilities and above sharp rise in the prices of essential commodities is a clear pointer to the abject failure of the Centre and the State Governments of which BJP is an important part.
Bhardwaj accused BJP of once again using the communal discourse to divert people’s attention from core issues that are important to their sustenance. He said Congress steadfastly stands for secular values that ensure respect and protection of all religions as provided in the Constitution. Any attempt of the BJP to divide people on religion and caste lines would be strongly fought by the Congress, he added.
