JAMMU, June 30: In some positive developments in favor of academic arrangements staff of various Polytechnics following their recent meeting with the Minister for Technical Education in Srinagar, Government has directed heads of the Polytechnics to continue the academic arrangements staff who were/are to be discontinued till further orders besides seeking information regarding the academic arrangements working in the Polytechnics and ITIs for their regularization process.
According to the order DTE/101/Misc/889-895, dated 22-06-2017, all the Heads of the Polytechnics/Provincial Deputy Directors and Heads of ITIs have been directed to continue the academic arrangements staff who were/are to be discontinued till further orders.
In a separate communiqué by the Under Secretary, Department of Technical Education to the Director Technical Education, under order number Eddo/ Tech/ ITI/48/2017 dated 29-06-2017, information has been sought about the academic arrangements staff working in the Polytechnics and ITIs regarding their regularization process in the given format.
Even as the All J&K Polytechnics Academic Arrangements Association has welcomed the decision of the department and appreciated the initiative, it has refused to suspend the ongoing strike, which entered into 24th day on Friday.
Atul Sudan, president of AJKPAA, Jammu, said it was good that department had taken their issue seriously and now had initiated a process for regularization policy but the ongoing protest would continue till they get something in written from the department for their regularization.
He reiterated that a suitable regularization policy should be framed for them or they should be included in J&K Civil Services Act 2010.
