JAMMU, Nov 6: Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib, today said that the Government is determined to safeguard the interests of economically backward sections of the society especially STs, SCs and OBCs.
The Minister was addressing a delegation of Gujjars and Bakerwals from Suchetgarh Assembly Constituency.
Mr. Chib said that the Advisory Boards have been constituted for development of Scheduled Castes, Gujjars & Bakerwals, OBCs and Pahari Speaking People. These Boards have been assigned the job of taking all possible steps so that the fruits of development percolate down to the last man in the row. He also mentioned a number of steps including construction of residential hostels for these SC/ST/OBC/Pahari Speaking Boys and Girls so that genuine candidates belonging to these communities get equal opportunities.
Mr. Chib also assured the members of the ST community of R.S.Pura that all steps will be taken to provide them better basic amenities. He instructed the administration for submitting a detailed proposal for early redressal of genuine grievances of the inhabitants of border village of Tehsil R.S.Pura.
