RAJOURI, Feb 6: SOS International- an organization of  PoK displaced persons has claimed that Government was deliberately delaying the absolute justice to the PoK DPs.
Addressing a large gathering of DPs at Kallar in Rajouri today, Rajiv Chuni chairman of the organization said that on November 7, 2015 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced package of Rs 80,000 crore for the State in which a mere relief package of Rs 2,000 crore was allocated for 36,000 PoK DPs families but it has been more than 2 and half years only 6000 PoK DPs families got the relief amount in their accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
He further said that if the pace of providing first installment of cash assistance to PoK DPs families goes in this way, then it will take 15 years. It can be easily gauged that it will take centuries to provide whole relief package approved by State cabinet to entire PoK DPs folk and by that time several coming generations will get vanished.
“It seems that Government is providing this tiny relief amount in some constraint and this attitude of Government is hurting us a lot. It is not only the fault of Government but our people are also involved in it as PoK DPs don’t know the importance of their precious vote and they let hostile political parties to exploit them with the passage of time but when they will realize the power of their vote then intimidating parties will learn the lesson”, he added.
Chuni further stated that Valley migrants who are few in numbers and their participation in democratic set up is very less are fetching every possible benefit from Government because KPs are aware of everything but on the other hand, PoK DPs who are more than ten lakh  in number have been struggling for justice for the last 7 decades.
Senior members VK Datta conducted stage proceedings. Others who also spoke included Kewal Ram Sharma, Ved Raj Bali, Capt Ravinder Kumar and Pt. Lekh Raj.
