JAMMU, July 12: For the protection of rights and interests of transgender persons, Government of Jammu and Kashmir today ordered constitution of Transgender Welfare Board.
Headed by Chief Secretary J&K as the Chairperson, the Board shall facilitate access of transgender persons to Government schemes and welfare measures in the Union Territory of J&K.
Administrative Secretaries of Finance, Home, Health & Medical Education, School Education Department, Social Welfare, Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Director Social Welfare, Jammu/Kashmir, Saair Ahmad Bhat, Vice President of Palzun Foundation, Bemina Srinagar; Aijaz Ahmad Wani, son of Sonullah Wani of Galwanpora, Sebdan Budgam; Haji Miya Saira, daughter of Miyan Janki, resident of Shahidi Chowk Jammu and Madan Lal, son of Late Lahri ram, resident of Ward number 13, Hiranagar, district Samba, are Members of the Board.
