JAMMU, Feb 8: The Government today constituted Appellate and Maintenance Tribunals under Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 read with Jammu and Kashmir Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2021.
As per the notifications issued by the Social Welfare Department, Appellate Tribunal has been constituted for each district with District Magistrate concerned as its Presiding Officer, who shall be assisted by Additional District Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Additional Superintendent of Police concerned and District Social Welfare Officer concerned.
Similarly, Maintenance Tribunal has been constituted for each sub-division with Additional District Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate concerned as its Presiding Officer, who shall be assisted by Deputy Superintendent of Police concerned, Tehsildar concerned and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer concerned.
