Govt conspired to stop migrants from casting votes: Chetan

JAMMU, Apr 28: Independent candidate from Srinagar Parliamentary constituency Chetan Sharma said that Central and State Governments have hatched a big conspiracy once again to kill the Kashmiri displaced people by depriving them from casting their votes in these general elections, which is a serious matter of concern.
Addressing a press conference, Sharma said that National Conference (NC) was well aware of the fact that it has lost its support in migrant camps in Jammu and a result the Coalition Government has hatched a big conspiracy to stop migrant voters from casting their votes.
He said that the ruling alliance is showing marks of frustration by doing all this.
He urged Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer J&K to make arrangement so that 30,000 displaced Kashmiri voter of Srinagar constituency be allowed to vote on their personal identity.
He warned the State Government to release the ration and cash relief to displaced people in due time in near future, adding that problems of displaced community and Jagti township needs to be readdressed as they are facing some serious problems including long duration power cuts, non-functioning of hospital, non-availability of medicines etc.
Sharma appealed the voters of Srinagar constituency to vote for him to strengthen the nationalist forces in the State.
