KATHUA, July 29: First time in the history of the country a Government has come up with so many schemes to give a push to new start-ups and MSMEs and as a result there is a mushroom growth of the same across India with rural hamlets also showing interest in the Government endeavour.
This was stated by DDC Chairman Kathua, Col Mahan Singh after inaugurating a newly established aromatic plants’ (oil extraction plant) worth Rs.10 lakh at Plakh in Basohli Block.
The DDC Chairman said that such small start-ups help in creating avenues for the farming community and also ensure manifold increase in the income. He said that the Modi Government has changed the perspective in all fields especially farming as tillers are now exploring new and lucrative options for making their lives convenient and prosperous. He said that aforesaid project will increase the income of the farming community to a large extent.
It is pertinent to mention that the aforesaid plant has become a reality by the help of UT Administration and the Agriculture Department.
Ajit Singh Naib, Sarpanch and other progressive farmers were also present on the occasion and expressed happiness over the new initiative as this will give them more options to explore farming in a new and better way as monkey menace was a big challenge in the area.
Col Mahan said that the new project will create employment in the area and people will get new vistas of opportunities. He said that now farmers can change their crops so that monkeys cannot play the spoilsport by devastating their yield. He said that oil from lemon grass and other aromatic plants has huge demand in the market and farmers should come forward and take benefit of Central Sponsored Schemes by changing farming patterns and going for these cash crops.
