JAMMU, Feb 6: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today said that the Government is committed to create modern line facilities in every part of the State, adding that to meet this objective various projects have been launched.
The Minister was interacting with the locals after launching various developmental works in Nanak Nagar Sector-12 and Sector-14, here today.
Officers of PHE, PDD, UEED, R&B and JMC accompanied the Minister.
The Minister asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to complete the work on all ongoing projects within stipulated time frame by using quality material. He said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of the developmental schemes.
Mr Bhalla asked the officers to formulate detailed project report envisaging the left out development works in the area and submit the same for funding for early start of work. He assured that the Government was making all out efforts to extend every help to the people at their doorsteps.
The Minister said the Government was fully aware of people’s problems and was making all out efforts to fulfill their demands on priority. He said for this purpose Central Government has provided liberal funding under core sectors.
Responding to the demands of residents of Nanak Nagar Sector-12, Mr Bhalla said the Government has approved the project for lying of water supply pipes of 4 inch dia in the peripheral areas of the locality, adding that the digging work would be started soon after completing tendering formalities.
Regarding sanitation of lanes, drains and local nallah at Sector-14 of Nanak Nagar, the Minister asked the JMC officers to depute regular teams of civic workers in the localities for maintaining clean and healthy environment. He called upon the people to avoid littering inside the lanes and help in maintaining the place clean.
