JAMMU, May 7: Underscoring the resolve to provide better facilities in school, Minister of State for Education, Information, and Culture Priya Sethi today said the Government is committed to upgrade infrastructure in schools and soon the quality of teaching and schooling in the educational institutions would improve.
She was chairing a meeting to review the status of facilities in the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jourian, here.
While expressing her concern, Priya said every school must have some basic minimum set of facilities so that students feel comfortable while attending the school, adding that the Government would provide all required help for upgrading infrastructure in the Vidyalaya.
She directed for expediting the land transfer case of the school and called upon the district administration to immediately take up the matter for early disposal.
She said the District Development Commissioner being Chairman of the Committee should personally monitor progress of the case and till the time the land is made available some better alternate building be provided to the school.
The DDC informed that under Sadbhavna the Army has constructed building and the same would be utilised for the school. He said the additional requirement of rooms for the school would be ensured within three months.
MLA, Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma, District Development Commissioner, Jammu A.K. Sahu, Principal of the school and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
