Govt committed to equitable development of all sections of society: Andrabi

MOS  Hajj and AuqafANANTNAG, Dec 26: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PHE, I&FC, and Power Development, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, today said that the present dispensation is committed for equitable development of all sections of the society and has launched various flagship programmes in this regard.

This was stated by the Minister while chairing a public grievance redress camp here. During the camp people belonging to various villages of Dooru constituency apprised the Minister about issues like drinking water and power supply, road repairs, adequate supply of ration, fire wood for mosques and construction of protection bunds.

The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their grievances would be addressed in a phased manned. He stressed upon the officers to work diligently and solve the issues confronting people within a stipulated time.

He called for speeding up the pace of developmental works, so that their benefits can percolate to the grassroots level. He also said that two Road Projects at Ringmundoo and Manzmoo have been taken up under PMGSY which will benefit a large population of the area.

Later, Andrabi visited the Verinag-Kapran road construction site and directed the officials of R&B Department to expedite the double-laning of the road.

He also directed the officials of PHE Department for the construction of filtration plant in Verinag, so that its adjoining habitations are supplied with safe potable drinking water.

Among others, ADDC Anantnag, ACD, Xens of R&B, PHE, PDD, SDM Dooru and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
