JAMMU, Nov 24: Saying that better road communication plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of the people of an area, the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary said that the Government has formulated a comprehensive plan to provide improved road connectivity to the people of the State especially living in rural and border areas.
The Minister was addressing a well-attended gathering at village Magowali of Suchertgarh constituency after kick-starting the work of blacktopping on Magowali-Seer Ballah- Canal head road today.
He said that the improved road connectivity enhances accessibility, mobility and promotes economic activities, saying that a plan has been framed to provide well-knit road connectivity in the area. He said that almost all roads links of the area have been blacktopped and rest of them to be taken up for blacktopping very soon.
Referring to blacktopping of Canal Head-Kotli Maffi road, the Minister informed that the work on the road would be taken up soon as the concerned agency has already been directed for preparing the DPRs.
Reviewing the status of pace of blacktopping work on Magowali-Nanowali road, Sham Choudhary directed the concerned for accelerating the pace of work ensuring its timely completion with strictly adhering with the quality and specifications. He also visited Agrachak village and took stock of work on lanes and drains being constructed under BADP by Rural Development Department.
