UP Govt 100 days: Mixed reaction to Yogi’s regime

LUCKNOW, June 26:
The Yogi Adityanath Government in Uttar Pradesh today completed its 100 days in office evoking mixed reaction among the people and the political parties.
The main function to release the report card of the BJP Government, along with a white paper on the deeds of the previous Samajwadi Party Government, is expected to be held tomorrow.  The BJP Ggovernment took Path of office on March 19.
Tomorrow, the Chief Minister would  sign an agreement with  Asian Development Bank in the presence of officials of the Central government, for a loan of Rs 1,950 crore for construction of eight district roads at a cost of Rs 2,782 crore.
The BJP Government was slated to release the white paper on the corruption of the previous SP Government yesterday, but it was postponed at the last moment due to the visit of NDA presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind.
Even as the Government claims that their achievement in this 100 days is much more than the people’s expectation, but the opposition parties alleged that nothing has been done while the law and order has deteriorated.
The principal opposition Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav even alleged that the Yogi Government was just taking credit of the schemes and projects started by his Government. He even tweeted ,”Ram Ram japna, Paraya kaam apna.”
But for the ruling party there are several new schemes, including the innovative farm loan waiver scheme to the tune of Rs 36,000 crore for 86 lakhs small and marginal farmers.
State BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak claimed here today that this was the first Government during the past 15 years which broke the ice to run a corruption-free and a transparent regime.
He said that record purchase of wheat, power for all project to provide 24 hours electricity to every household, anti-land mafia task force, converting Mathura-Vrindavan and Ayodhya-Faizabad as Corportion besides introducing e-tendering in all the departments to end corruption were some of the important decisions taken by the Government.
But  SP spokesperson Rajendra Choudhury alleged that the 100 days of the BJP government shows its failure. “When the trailer of this Government is so bad, what can the people expect in the next five years.
The law and order has gone worse with now rapes are being committed inside the police stations and even in the heart of the state capital,” he alleged.
Similar views were also expressed by UP Congress spokesperson Amarnath Agarwal, who alleged that the goons have now shifted to the BJP and they are ruling the roost.
“The claim of the Yogi Government to wipe out the criminals from the state has done the reverse as now criminals from other states are coming to UP leading to rise in the crime rate,” he said, while questioning the BJP Government’s biggest claim that all the pothole roads would be repaired by June 15.
“The Government has failed even to repair 50 per cent of the bad roads in the state so far,” he alleged.
However, the  charges of the opposition have been contradicted by state deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma, who claimed that this Government has created a history by introducing several new schemes to prevent corruption and to launch transparency.
Leaders of BSP, RLD and other opposition too have criticised the 100 days term of the BJP and termed it as a total failure.    But there are couple of leaders who still want to give some more time to this BJP Government to perform.
SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and his brother Shivpal Singh Yadav, had said that they will give any comment after six months rule of this Government.  (UNI)
