JAMMU, Apr 17: Governor N N Vohra, who is the chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, visited Kakryal (Katra) today to review the arrangements for the visit of the Prime Minister on April 19.
Chief Secretary B R Sharma; BB Vyas, Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development; Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu; Surinder Kumar Gupta, DIG Udhampur-Reasi; Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur; Ms Sushma Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi; Sujit Kumar, SP Reasi; Ajeet Kumar Sahu, CEO, SMVDSB and other senior Civil and Police officers were present.
Dr SS Bloeria, Member, SMVDSB and Chairman, Governing Body of Super Speciality Hospital; Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU; Dr SP Singh, CEO and Brig MM Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer of the Hospital were also present.
The Governor was informed that the arrangements are being given the final touch for the Prime Minister’s visit on April 19, 2016. The PM, who accepted the Governor’s request to inaugurate two major projects of the Shrine Board will proceed directly to Kakryal after arrival at Jammu. He shall inaugurate the 230- bedded Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital at Kakryal which has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 300 crore. He shall also dedicate the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex at Katra.
The Prime Minister will also address the 5th Convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and later, address an invited gathering in the Sports Ground of the SMVDU where he will dedicate SMVDNS Hospital to the people and distribute cards on a token basis for free medical treatment at the Hospital to persons who live in the nearby villages from which land was acquired for University and the Hospital. The Prime Minister will also dedicate the Sports Complex, Katra through electronic means at this function.
The Governor directed the Chief Secretary and other senior officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements were made timely, and fool-proof security and traffic arrangements be made.
