SRINAGAR, June 2: Governor N N Vohra interacted with a group of 46 students from Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur, who are here on a study tour, at the Raj Bhavan here today.
During the discussions with the students, he emphasized upon them the importance of their acquiring a sound understanding of the larger issues facing the society as this would help them to contribute towards the establishment of a peaceful, non-violent and crime free society.
M L Kumawat, former Vice-Chancellor of the University; K.B. Vandana, Dean Academics & Addl. Director of the University; Dr Jagriti Upadhyay, Assistant Professor and two other officials are accompanying the students on the tour. P K Tripathi, Principal Secretary to the Governor was present on the occasion.
The Governor stressed the need for undertaking case studies of the law and order problems being faced in various parts of the country for adequately understanding the genesis of the root causes of the various complex problems which are detrimental to and disturb societal peace and harmony.
He enquired from the students about the courses they are studying and about their future plans. The Governor also discussed with the students about their tour programme and places they wish to visit in the Valley.
The Governor answered queries from the students about the issues being faced by the State and also discussed with them the historical importance of some of the tourist places which the students intend to visit during their study tour. He advised them to work hard and wished all of them bright careers ahead.
