JAMMU, Mar 18: Governor, N.N. Vohra, President of the Indian Red Cross Society, State Branch, launched www.ircsjk.org, the website of IRCS, J&K State Branch, here at Raj Bhavan, today.
Detailed information regarding the activities of the Indian Red Cross Society has been provided on this website. The website provides linkages to different branches of the Red Cross Society in the State, at the national level and the world over.
It has been launched with the aim to reach out to the maximum possible number of people in the State who are not aware of the activities of the Red Cross and its aims and objectives. Information related to the prices of medicines at Jan Aushadhi shops, details of blood donors, volunteers, fund raising activities, accounts of the IRCS, J&K etc can be obtained from this website.
On this occasion, a power point presentation giving the detailed account of the activities of the IRCS, J&K was made by Roma Wani, Honorary General Secretary, IRCS- State Branch.
The Governor urged the IRCS to train the volunteers and make them an important and valuable asset for the society. He appreciated the proposed initiative of the Red Cross to position the volunteers for the guidance and help of the Yatris during Shri Amarnath ji Yatra.
Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to Governor, Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ajit Sahu, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, R.C. Puri, Secretary Regional Red Cross Society, Jammu branch, Piyush Singla IAS (Probationer) were present on the occasion.
