SRINAGAR, June 4: Governor N.N. Vohra, who is the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), had an extensive interactive session with about two dozen State Civil and Police officers who are being deployed as Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors to manage the Yatra Camps in the entire Yatra area.
For the forthcoming Yatra, 24 serving civil and police officers would be deployed at Base and Forward Camp locations for managing the pilgrimage.
While interacting with the Camp Directors, the Governor urged them to personally inspect each and every arrangement being made at their Camp locations and the related Yatra routes. He asked them to particularly ensure effective sanitary arrangements, cleanliness of toilets, effective collection and removal of garbage to the identified dumps, adequate water and electricity supplies and provision of round the clock health care facilities to the pilgrims.
He emphasized the need for complete coordination among all the concerned departments and agencies for ensuring the smooth conduct of the Yatra. He asked the officers to ensure strict regulation of the Yatra to ensure the safety of the pilgrims, particularly in the event of weather deteriorating.
The Governor directed all the officers to provide all required assistance to Yatris, enabling them to complete their Yatra without facing any inconvenience. He reiterated that no Yatri without valid registration should be allowed to cross the Access Control Gates at Chandanwari and Domail.
The Governor urged the Camp Directors to maintain round the clock contact with the Shrine Board Control Room and with the other Camps to ensure that any arising problem is resolved without any delay whatsoever.
