JAMMU: Governor N.N. Vohra inaugurated the “Educational and Cultural Centre” of the Ramakrishna Mission at Ramakrishna Vihar in Udheywala here today. This Centre houses a public library, computer training centre, an academic coaching center for school students which conducts a career awareness programs and imparts value based education for promoting character building and personality development. This Centre has been established with financial aid from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Complimenting the Ramakrishna Mission for opening an educational and cultural facility in Jammu, Governor observed that this Center would be useful in advancing the prospects of the younger generation and serving the interests of the public at large. Being aware of the extremely beneficial work which the Mission is doing in the field of medical care, Governor was sure that its endeavours in the educational and cultural arena would be equally impressive and the Centre’s activities would infuse honesty and integrity in the societal dynamics.
Paying tributes to Swami Vivekananda ji, founder of the Ramakrishna Mission, Governor noted that in his short span of life Swami ji was instrumental in creating awakening in the country and his teachings inspired many great leaders who were associated with our freedom movement. Noting that the Ramakrishna Mission is one of the best social organisations in the country, Governor observed that value centric education programmes would lead to advancing ethical and moral standards amongst our youth.

Swami Vedatitananda, Correspondent, Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira, Belur Math explained the significance of the facilities at the newly inaugurated complex.
The welcome address was given by Swami Nirantarananda ji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Jammu and Sh. Suresh Kumar Sharma, President Managing Committee, Ramakrishna Mission presented the Vote of Thanks to the distinguished guests.
Dr. S.S. Bloeria, Member of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Sh. Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer of SMVDSB, were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
