SRINAGAR, June 8: In a function held in Assembly Hall of the Army Public School (APS), B.B. Cantonment, Srinagar, here today, Governor N.N. Vohra, participated in the ceremony to felicitate class 12th toppers and the teachers of this School.
The Governor complimented Lt. Gen. Subrata Saha, GOC, 15 Corps; Principal, Sandeep Marhatta; teachers and the students and their parents  for the excellent performance of APS in the class 12thexamination, in which the overall performance of APS Srinagar is right at the top of 134 Army Public Schools all over the country.
The Governor congratulated the Principal and teachers for this achievement notwithstanding the serious difficulties and loss of teaching time which was caused by the floods last year. He observed that the credit for this tremendous success is attributable to the seriousness, hardwork and dedication on the part of the Principal, teachers and the students who stood up in the face of hard times.
The Governor lauded the School Management’s efforts in promptly restoring the flood affected infrastructure and making it the first school in the Valley to resume studies after the floods in September 2014. On the occasion, he stressed the vital importance of good schools and dedicated teachers in producing good students who would pave the way for a better tomorrow.
Lt. Gen. Subrata Saha, GOC, 15 Corps presented the welcome address and highlighted the School’s recent achievements.
The function was attended by a large number of Army officers and their families, school staff, students and their parents.
