Governor condoles Misra’s demise

NEW DELHI, Sept 29:  N N Vohra, Governor, expressed grief over the sad demise of Brijesh Misra, former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpai and the country’s first National Security Advisor. He has conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Vohra recalled his long association with Misra, ever since he handed over charge to him when the NDA Government took over in March 1998 and, later, his regular meetings with Misra on important  National Security issues, after Vohra’s induction as a member of the First National Security Board.
Vohra also recalled the important role played by Misra during the Kargil War when he would have early morning briefing sessions with K. Subramaniam, Satish Chandra, J.N.Dixit and himself, all members of the National Security Board, before he briefed the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Committee on Security.
He observed that Misra would be long remembered for the clarity and the decisiveness with which he dealt with National Security issues and never compromised his views or minced words in stating his position, which was loud, bold and clear.
