SRINAGAR, July 22: Governor N. N. Vohra, today congratulated Pranab Mukherjee, on his election as the President of India.
The Governor rang up Mr. Mukherjee this evening and conveyed him his greetings and good wishes.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah also conveyed his felicitations and talked to Mr Mukherjee on telephone.
Chief Minister said that Pranab Mukherjee’s contribution in the economic reform of the country has been unparalleled. He stated that the election of Pranab Mukherjee to the highest office reflects the overwhelming respect and affection that he commands amongst the people of the country.
Omar hoped that his election to this highest office will usher in new era of peace, progress and prosperity in the country.
He reiterated his request to the President elect to visit J&K.
