Governor, CM greet people on Janamashtami

SRINAGAR, Aug 27: N. N. Vohra, Governor, has greeted the people on Janamashtami and expressed sincere hope that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the divine message of Lord Krishna, enshrined in the Shrimad Bhagvad Geeta, exhorts mankind to strive for the ultimate truth and to do one’s duty to the best of one’s ability without worrying about the benefits to be gained. He added that adherence to such values provides a firm foundation of a stable and harmonious society.
On this auspicious occasion, the Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has extended greetings to the people on Janamashtami wishing them well being and prosperity.
In his greetings message, Chief Minister said that tradition of celebrating festivals and holy occasions in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir adds colour to the joyful occasions. He stressed on strengthening this trait. The Chief Minister prayed for peace and development in the State and the Country.
