JAMMU, Feb 27: By the order of Lieutenant Governor, the Government has re-constituted Governing Body and Executive Committee of the Jammu and Kashmir Industrial Biotechnology Parks Society.
Twenty-member Governing Body is headed by Advisor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar as its Chairman and shall provide overall policy guideline and directions for the efficient functioning of the society in fulfilling its objectives as laid down in the Memorandum of Association.
Principal Secy to LG, Administrative Secretaries of Health & Medical Education Department, Science & Technology Department, Revenue Department, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, Industries & Commerce are among members of the Governing Body.
It shall consider the balance sheet, annual audited accounts, evaluation and special reports of the Society and approve the annual action plan as well as budget for the ensuing year. The Governing Body shall meet atleast once in a quarter.
The Executive Committee of the J&K Industrial Biotechnology Parks Society is headed by the Administrative Secretary, Science & Technology Department and shall be in charge of the day to day functioning of the society. It shall finalize the budget and Annual Progress Implementation Plan besides keeping the Governing body informed of all the important decisions taken by it regarding the functioning of the society.
The objective of the J&K Industrial Biotechnology Park Society is to utilize the medicinal plants, photo pharmaceutical, pharma bio-resources and aromatic plant bio-resources available in the Union Territory, create core technology infrastructure to enable setting up of new industries in J&K based on unique bio-diversity, protein therapeutics, vaccines and fermentation products to incentivize and support.
