‘GOs Refresher Course’ culminates

UDHAMPUR, Sept 17: Two weeks “GOs Refresher Course” culminated today at SK Police Academy here today.
Twenty four officers of the rank of DySPs attended the course.
The course was designed to acquaint the participating officers with the role of supervisory officer who are responsible for the management of concerned sub-divisions/sub-units. The main objective of the course is to impart the skills regarding the coordination and supervision of respective sub-divisions/sub-units, to lay stress on psychological inputs to develop the leadership skills, to bridge the gap between lower and upper subordinates and to co-ordinate and supervise law & order situations as well as natural disasters.
To achieve the objectives of the training programme, experienced and qualified guest faculty from different areas whether it be Police, Para Military Forces, Universities etc which includes Dr Ashok Bhan, former DGP J&K, Surjit Singh, DIG BSF Frontier Headquarters Jammu were invited with the motive to inculcate the technical knowhow and refresh them about the subjects of utmost importance like terrorism threat, mitigation strategies, border security issues, tunnels, drones, cover fire, etc.
In his valedictory address, Vinay Kumar, SSP, Deputy Director (Admn) SKPA laid stress to be more visionary in the direction of supervision and coordination with subordinates and seniors in their respective workplace. He also added that there is need to equip yourself with the latest techniques of Investigation and they shall definitely observe and implement the important tips in the field as Supervisory officers which they learned during the course and hoped that after undergoing this course all of them shall work with dedication for the betterment of the Police which is facing huge challenge in terms of law & order, terrorism, narcotics, cyber crime, etc.
The valedictory function was also attended by the ADs and faculty of the Academy.
The course was co-ordinated by Sunmati Gupta, Assistant Director and Sandeep Mahajan, Inspector member faculty.
