JAMMU, Nov 20: Gopashtami was observed with utmost reverence and religious fervour at Trimurti Gau Shala in Doomi Malpur, Gudapattan Jammu, today.
A statement said that Mata Santosh presided over the festivities, joined by Shakti Pathak, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range as Chief Guest, and Mahant Rohit Shastri Jyotishacharya, President of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Institute Trust, as the distinguished guest.
The event, meticulously organized by Ravi Verma and his dedicated team, unfolded with a rich program encompassing worship, havan, Gau Pujan, Satsang, and the distribution of prasad.
Mata Santosh underscored the significance of Gopashtami, highlighting Lord Krishna’s initiation of cow worship and grazing on this auspicious day in the Kartik month.
Shakti Pathak, in his address, emphasized the importance of committing to Gau service on Gopashtami, asserting that individual efforts in every household are crucial alongside Government initiatives. He stressed the foundational role of Mother Gau in preserving ancient culture.
Mahant Rohit Shastri passionately advocated for a global ban on cow slaughter, drawing inspiration from Lord Krishna’s dedication to Vedic culture. He urged attendees to worship and safeguard cows, emphasizing that such measures are essential for universal prosperity and peace.
