Major break-through in theft cases

KATHUA, Apr 20: In a major breakthrough in theft cases which had created panic all around in the recent past, Billawar police arrested two thieves namely Shakoor Ahmed S/o Mohammad Ayub of Malhar Morha Nelhew and Tara Chand, S/o Indru Ram of Malti, Billawar.
The duo was involved in theft incidents recently committed by them in the area. Team of Police Station Billawar led by Inspector, Vijay under the direct supervision of DySP, Ravinder Singh, SDPO Billawar, recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh on their disclosure.
Both the thieves admitted their prime involvement in two theft incidents in Dewal and Malti village in Billawar for which two FIRs under Number 31/2019 U/S 454/380 RPC and 35/2019 U/S 454/380 RPC stand registered in Police Station Billawar.
The duo was put to sustained questioning and investigation which revealed that they were also involved in two major theft incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kathua for which FIR No’s 159/2017,263/2017 U/S 454/380 RPC stand registered in Police Station Kathua.
Police is also investigating their involvement in theft incidents not only in Kathua district but in the neighbouring States as well. It is also expecting more arrests in the follow up action.
The Kathua police has appealed the people of having any knowledge about their involvement in any more case to come forward for giving valuable information to ensure their conviction under law.
