SRINAGAR, Sept 18: Lt Gen Y K Joshi, GOC 14 Corps met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Lt Gen briefed Governor regarding the situation along the LoC and LAC which fall within the area of responsibility of this Corps.
Malik held detailed discussion with Lt Gen Joshi regarding issues related to connectivity and expansion of road network which is required to connect various parts of Ladakh internally and with the plains. The GOC also briefed Governor regarding winter preparedness for sectors under his responsibility.
The Governor stressed the importance of maintaining a sustained coordination between security forces and civil administration to meet security challenges in the State.
Meanwhile, K K Sharma, Director General, Border Security Force also meet the Governor today.
The DG briefed Governor about the functioning of the BSF in Jammu and Kashmir and about various issues connected with internal and external security, particularly in the backdrop of the recent spurt in attempts of infiltration from across the IB.
