Go Air’s Mumbai-Srinagar direct flight from today

JAMMU, Apr 17: The Go Air would operate its direct flights from Mumbai to Srinagar from tomorrow and is also exploring possibilities to operate night flights from several capital cities of the states of the country to Srinagar to meet the rush of tourists to the Valley and other destinations of the State.
This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of Go Air Company during his meeting with the State Tourism Minister, Ghulam Ahmad Mir here today.
The Tourism Minister hoped that the Company would soon start its night flights to Srinagar from different cities for the convenience of tourists.
Minister of State for Tourism and Home, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo, Director General of Police, Commissioner Secretary, Tourism and Culture and other senior officers of Air Company were present in the meeting.
The Tourism Minister said that State Government has already taken up the matter for operation of night flights from different cities to Srinagar with the Centre and other State Governments to facilitate the tourists planning to visit tourist destinations of the State. “We have received positive response and Government hopes that night flights to Srinagar would be started soon”, he said.
Mir said Government was also endeavoring for increasing the train services from different cities to Jammu and has approached the Union Railway Ministry so that the tourists visiting the State would not face any problem while travelling to and fro.
The Tourism Minister assured all possible support of the State Government to Air Companies for starting their night flights to Srinagar.
