JAMMU, Aug 27: ‘Eye Donation Fortnight’ was today launched in Ophthalmology Department of the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu with the slogan `Don’t leave a will, leave a vision’ to encourage the people to donate eyes.
Dr Dinesh Gupta, Head of Department (HoD) Ophtha-lmology Department, GMC Jammu, said registration for eye donation will be done during the ‘Eye Donation Fortnight’. For donating eyes, he added, the people can contact the Ophthal-mology Department.
The `Eye Donation Fortnight’ will continue till September 8.
“Main objective behind observing the `Eye Donation Fortnight’ is to promote awareness among the people regarding eye donation process so that they could give their vision to someone even after their death and help people overcome blindness,” he added.
A number of people today turned up in the Ophthalmology Department of the Government Medical College, Jammu to fulfill formalities to pledge eye donation.
