JAMMU, Mar 23: Junior doctors of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu have appealed Health Minister, Bali Bhagat, to take up the matter of increase in PG seats with Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
A deputation of junior doctors of GMCH Jammu today visited Excelsior and expressed their resentment over the way the sensitive issue of ‘increase in PG seats’ was handled by the former Incharge Principal of the College due to which the institution is on the verge of losing their share of PG seats.
Regretting the delay in issue of Letter of Permission (LoPs) to GMCH Jammu and SKIMS Srinagar, the deputation appealed the newly appointed GMCH principal, Dr Sunanda Raina, Health Minister, Bali Bhagat and MPs, Dr Jitendra Singh, Jugal Kishore and Shamsher Singh Manhas to intervene personally and take up the matter with Union Health Minister, JP Nadda, if they are really concerned about the career of doctors of J&K.
The deputation members said that if both these institutions (GMCH Jammu and SKIMS Srinagar) don’t get LoPs for all the proposed PG seats out of 5000 seats hike by the MCI, they will go on mass strike against the State as well as Central Government.
