GMC Jammu holds 2-day workshop on Research Methodology

JAMMU, Aug 18: A two-day workshop on Research Methodology was conducted by the Post Graduate Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College Jammu.
The Workshop was inaugurated by Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College Jammu as chief guest. In his address, Dr Ashutosh said conducting such type of workshop on regular basis for the benefit of all especially Post Graduate Research Scholars is the need of hour.
He further said that any research protocol or thesis has to be designed for the interest of patient care and our society at large. He also stressed upon to take up with University of Jammu to start thesis work in first six month of postgraduation.
This was followed by a lecture on Introduction to Research Methodology delivered by Dr Rajiv K Gupta, Prof and Head, Department of Community Medicine.
The guest of honour, Dr Sunil K Raina, Head of Department, Tanda Medical College (HP), spoke on cross sectional studies while Dr Vishal R Tandon delibrated on randomized clinical trials methods and study designs.
A series of lectures were delivered on Data and its Measurements, Selection of Study Designs, Case Control Study, Cohort Study and Randomized Clinical Trials by Dr Rashmi Gupta, Dr Rakesh Bahl and Dr Kiran Bala, respectively.
The whole program was coordinated by Dr Taswinder, Resident. A large number of faculty members, Senior Residents and Post Graduate from different departments participated in this workshop. The workshop was also in virtual mode with DNB scholars from various districts participated in online mode.
