GMC Jammu announces revised duty timings for staff

JAMMU, Feb 27: Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu has announced revised duty timings for its staff, implementing seasonal adjustments to working hours.

In a recent order, Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Principal and Dean Government Medical College Jammu, instructed the staff to follow duty hours in accordance with a previous directive issued by the Health and Medical Education Department on April 3, 2024.

This order mandated a 9 am to 5 pm work schedule on weekdays, with a half-hour lunch break from 1:30 pm to 2 pm.

Under this schedule, Saturdays were set for 9 am to 1:30 pm.

However, on December 21, 2024, the Health and Medical Education Department introduced a winter schedule, revising the working hours from 10 am to 4:30 pm from December 1 to February 28/29.

As the winter schedule ends tomorrow, February 28, Dr Ashutosh has directed all staff to revert to the working hours outlined in the April 3 order.

He has urged employees to strictly adhere to the revised timings.
