GMC doc designated as Co-chair of IMS

JAMMU, Mar 1:  Dr Sudhaa Sharma, a noted Gynecologist from GMC Jammu has been designated as Co-chair of the National Research committee of Indian Menopause Society (IMS).
In her address, she said it is high time to invest more into the research, develop new, cheaper and safe therapies, promote different health policies and deliver the best and latest health care to women in their menopause in prestigious 19th National Conference of (IMSCON-2014), recently held at Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
Dr Sudhaa during her invited faculty lecture deliberated about variation in Menopausal Symptoms (vasomotor, Uro-genital & cardiac, metabolic & Rheumatological) during different stages of menopause. She emphasised to create awareness about these symptoms, diagnose and treat them with comprehensive care at the earliest to provide good quality of life.
Furthermore, with her efforts North Zone Conference of IMS was also announced to be held at Jammu in the year 2014.
Dr Annil Mahajan, Prof and Head department of Medicine and well known rheumatologist and Member Executive Committee – Medical Council of India also delivered invited faculty lecture in IMSCON-Agra on “Osteoporosis: Treatment in 50’s, 60’s & 70’s of age in women” stressing intake of calcium and Vitamin D by every menopausal women beside specific drugs for bone health and comprehensive lifestyle management   to achieve longevity of life with a healthy and better quality of life.
