JAMMU, Feb 27: To review the performance of Railway Department, Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager, Northern Railway hold a high level meeting with the departmental heads here today.
During the meeting, Chaudhuri emphasized that Safety is the main concern over Railways, for which all out efforts should be directed towards maintaining the tracks, rolling stock, signaling and electric overhead wires are working in top order.
He emphasized upon minimizing the human failure in train operation, extensive monitoring of rail fractures and rail welds and said no error should be left and asked the officers should enhance their inspection to assess the progress of works as well as train operations.
Chaudhuri advised all divisions to take all necessary remedial actions to proper & efficient working of signaling systems.
He shows his concern on rail fractures, Asset failure, Maintenance of Point & Crossing, Shunting Practices, Work site Protection etc. and instructed that monitoring of signals, rail fractures and rail welds should be done extensively and no error should be left.
Chaudhuri also advised the departmental heads to regularly conduct training and refresher courses for the staff to keep them motivated and informed of the working of the system to minimize human error.
