JAMMU, May 20: Girls outclassed boys in the class XII examinations conducted by the J&K State Board of School Education (BOSE), the results of which were declared today.
The girls maintained their dominance in the Merit List. 62 positions were claimed by girls and 24 by boys in 4 faculties of Science, Commerce, Arts & Home Sciences.
Of 40580 students who took the examinations, total pass percentage was 49.
In Science stream, boy claimed top rank, whereas in Commerce, Arts and Home Science streams, girls rocked.
In Home Science, all the 10 positions were swept by Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi.
In Science stream, Akhilesh Pakhetra of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth, HSS Udhampur and Vidushi Gupta of DBN Vidya Mandir HSS, Mubarak Mandi shared first position by securing 488 marks (97.6 per cent), whereas Robin Singh of Happy Model Higher Secondary School, Udhampur and Shubam Sharma of Government Higher Secondary School, Pouni shared second position by securing 97.4 per cent (487 marks).
Third position was shared by Niharika Gupta of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth HSS Udhampur and Sheetal Kachroo of St Xavier Higher Secondary School by securing 486 marks (97.2 per cent).
Abdhinab Mansotra of Tiny Scholars Higher Secondary School Kathua, Sakshi Sharma of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth HSS Udhampur and Vaishali Rajput of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar secured fourth position by securing 484 (96.8 per cent) marks, whereas the fifth position was shared by Meenal Sharma of Oriental Academy, Afghan Mohalla and Pragati Mahajan of Mother Teresa Convent Higher Secondary School Dharmni.
The sixth position was shared by Akansha Devi of SP Higher Secondary School, Exchange Road, Anchal Gupta of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar, Atul Sharma of Little Angels Higher Secondary School Kathua and Sakshi Sharma of RS Jagriti Niketan Higher Secondary School Barnai by securing 482 marks (96.4 per cent).
Manmeet Singh of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar, Sachin Kumar Digra of Government Higher Secondary School (boys) Sunderbani, Sheetal Dhar of JK Montessorie Higher Secondary School Talab Tillo and Varsha Karlupia of ST Xavier Higher Secondary School Barnai shared seventh position by claiming 96.2 per cent (481 marks).
The eighth position was shared by Anandita Bhandari of Dream Land Public School Janipur, Kanish Mahajan of Tiny Scholars Higher Secondary School Kathua, Mega Sharma of Public Jyoti Higher Secondary School Chhan Rorian, Samreen Kour of Unique Higher Secondary School Gadigarh and Shivam Gupta of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar by securing 480 marks (96 per cent).
12 students secured ninth position by achieving 95.8 per cent (479 marks). The students are Aman Sharma of Government SRML Higher Secondary School Parade, Anamika Seth of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth HSS Udhampur, Hanan Shawl of Government Higher Secondary School Parade, Hansja Sharma of St Xavier Convent Higher Secondary School Barnai, Kunal Dogra of Government SRML Higher Secondary School Parade, Meenakshi Dubey of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Parade, Parul Verma of Government SRML Higher Secondary School Parade, Rohit Sharma of Government Higher Secondary School, Reasi, Siddhant Bucha of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth HSS Udhampur, Smriti Slathia of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar, Sparsh Dagoria of Government Higher Secondary School Bhaddu and Tilakshi Sharma of St Peter’s Higher Secondary School Karan Bagh.
The 10th position was shared by Abhilash Bhau, Akash Mattoo and Hritik Kumar, trio of Government SRML Higher Secondary School Parade, Deepali Sharma and Mansi Bandral, both of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar, Nandini of Government Higher Secondary School Ramnagar, Sakshi Manhas of Government Higher Secondary School, Mahanpur and Surinder Dutta of Oriental Academy Afghan Mohallah by securing 478 marks (95.6 per cent).
In Commerce stream, the first position was claimed by Mimansa Bhardwaj of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Canal Road by securing 480 marks (96 per cent), whereas the second position was bagged by Diksha Rajput of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi by securing 479 marks. The third position was shared by Arjun Gupta of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar and Kavleen Kour of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi by securing 478 marks (95.6 per cent).
Manpreet Kour of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar and Shiwati Sharma of SP Senior Secondary School Bari Brahmana shared fourth position by securing 475 marks (95 per cent), whereas the fifth position was shared by Mehak Jandial, Niharika Gupta and Tania Verma, trio from Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar and Vipul Nargotra of SM Jain Higher Secondary School by securing 94.6 per cent (473 marks).
The sixth position was shared by Abilasha of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar and Kusum Lata of RS Jagriti Niketan Higher Secondary School Kathua by achieving 94.4 per cent marks.
The seventh and eight positions were claimed by Jasmeet Kour of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tillo and Manju Rana of SP Senior Secondary School Bari Brahmana by securing 469 and 468 marks respectively.
Priyanka Sharma of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jeevan Nagar and Tanmeet Kour of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar claimed ninth position by achieving 93.4 per cent (467 marks). The 10th position was bagged by Shivali Devi of SP Senior Secondary School Bari Brahmana.
In Arts stream, Muskaan Rajwal of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road secured first position by securing 486 marks (97.2 per cent), whereas the second rank was secured by Ifra Anjum Wani of Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School Sainik Colony by achieving 96.2 per cent.
The third and fourth positions were claimed by Sabba Choudhary of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road and Annie Vaid of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Exchange Road by securing 475 and 469 marks respectively.
Farheen Khan and Shazia Khush Qureshi , both from Himalayan Education Mission Higher Secondary School Rajouri claimed fifth and sixth positions by securing 467 and 465 marks respectively.
The seventh position was achieved by Jhanvi of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur by securing 92.4 per cent (462 marks), whereas the eighth position was shared by Akshita Bharti of Happy Model Higher Secondary School Udhampur, Sagrika of Vijay Higher Secondary School Udhampur and Tejasvi Bhagat of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tillo by securing 92.2 per cent (461 marks).
Simran Sawhney of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi claimed ninth position by securing 460 marks, whereas the 10th position was shared by Lakshmi Raina of RKS Girls HSS Bishnah and Stanzin Pasang of SP Higher secondary school Exchange Road by achieving 91.8 per cent (459 marks).
In Home Science, Neha Thakur of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi claimed first position by securing 81.8 per cent (409 marks), whereas second and third positions were clinched by Nargis and Akriti Bhalgota, both from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi by achieving 382 and 380 marks respectively.
Deepika Sharma and Rupali Gupta, both from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi secured fourth and fifth positions by securing 72.4 and 71.4 per cent marks respectively. The sixth and seventh positions were achieved by Anchita Mishra and Sukriti Jain, both from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi by securing 340 and 332 marks respectively.
Beefa Kouser, Manshad Bibi and Sakteena Begum, trio from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi secured eighth, ninth and 10th positions by claiming 64.6, 64.2 and 60.4 per cent marks respectively.
