REASI, Dec 21: A 17-year-old girl student of class 10th was found burnt to death under mysterious circumstances at her home in the heart of Reasi town on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shveeta Gill, daughter of Police official Ashok Gill of Ward No 2. She was a student of class 10th in a school in Reasi.
According to Police, some neighbours witnessed blazes coming out of a room in the house of the deceased. After the fire was controlled, charred body of girl was found from inside the room. It could not be ascertained immediately whether it was a case of suicide or not, Police said.
“We were not able to inquire the girl’s parents as they are under terrible shock. Inquiry with the family members might give a clue to crack the case,” Police added.
Body of the deceased has been shifted to District Hospital Reasi for postmortem while a case has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
