Girl jumps into Tawi

JAMMU, Aug 2: A girl today attempted to commit suicide allegedly by jumping into River Tawi in this winter capital of the State.
“A 20-year-old girl, resident of Simbal Morh this evening jumped into River Tawi from the bridge and fell into the shallow waters,” police sources here said.
They said the flying squad gypsy deployed in Jewel Chowk area immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the girl.
“She had a narrow escape,” police said and added that a case has been registered and investigations are under way.
