JAMMU, May 18: A young girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Bishnah area of city outskirts.
“The deceased girl has been identified as Seema (20) daughter of Rattan Lal, resident of Chimmachak (Bishnah),” a police official said. Quoting family members of the girl, the official said that during the intervening night of May 17 and 18, the girl consumed some poisonous substance at her residence. He said the family members immediately shifted the girl to nearby Government Hospital, Ramgarh from where she was referred in the morning to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
However, the girl passed away this evening at about 5:10. “The body has been shifted to mortuary room of the hospital and its postmortem will be conducted tomorrow,” the official said, adding inquest proceedings in this connection were initiated at police station Bishnah.
