Srinagar, Mar18: Police today said a girl committed suicide in Sogam area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police spokesman said the girl, whose name has been withheld, consumed some poisonous substance at her home. “She was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment where-from she was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for further treatment where she breathed her last,” he said.
After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her parents for last rites, said the spokesman, adding that the police have registered a case under FIR number 10/16 under Section 309 RPC in this regard.
