KISHTWAR, July 28: Police here today arrested two drug peddlers including a girl and recovered about 13 gram of heroin-like substance from their possession.
SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh while sharing details, stated that acting on credible information, special Naka was laid at Shalimar and the operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional SP Pardeep Singh Goria and DySP Headquarters Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta with operational teams led by Inspector Firdous Ahmed, SHO Police Station Kishtwar and PSI Rajveer Singh, I/C PP Shalimar.
During the checking of vehicles and pedestrians, a bus bearing registration number JK02BJ-0087, coming from Jammu to Kishtwar, was stopped and during checking two persons onboard were found behaving suspiciously and they were subjected to checking.
They were identified as Rohit Singh, resident of Lachdayram, Poohie and Sakiya Banoo, resident of Simna Colony, Zewar. During checking Police recovered about 6-7 gram of heroin-like substance from each of them wrapped in transparent polythene, along with one used syringe with needle.
Both the accused were arrested on the spot and a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in this regard at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
