SAMBA, May 2: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing three animals and arresting a bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS)Ghagwal.
Acting on an information received through reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal during vehicle checking at NHW Naka Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number JK02BJ/2721 for checking.
During checking, three bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission which were being transported in a cruel manner.
The driver of the vehicle namely Surinder Kumar son of PyaraLal of Jandral, tehsil R. S Pura district Jammu has been arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 67/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal.
