Ghagwal police rescues 15 bovine animals, arrests smuggler

SAMBA, June 12: District Police Samba has successfully foiled attempt to smuggle bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal after arresting bovine smuggler and rescuing 15 bovines at naka NHW Tapyal.
A police party of PS Ghagwal, while performing vehicle checking duty on NHW at Tapyal Naka, intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number, JK02AH-3666 which was coming from Punjab side and moving toward Valley.
During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The driver identified as Sukhvinder Singh, S/o Punjab Singh, R/o Gurha Kalan, Pathankot, Punjab has been arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 55/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation stands taken up.
Besides this, due to strenuous efforts put in by Police team of PS Ghagwal, one bovine smuggler who had managed to flee from the spot in case FIR No. 50/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal was arrested. The accused has been identified as Rafiq S/o Deena R/O Khudabaksh, Panchkula, Haryana.
