SAMBA, Apr 30: Ghagwal Police has rescued 11 bovine animals which were being smuggled in two Mahindra Boleros late last night.
According to reports the Ghagwal Police laid a naka at National Highway Number 1 last night for traffic checking and it signaled two Mahindra Bolero vehicles with out number coming from Kathua side to stop. Instead of stopping their vehicles, the drivers accelerated the speed of the vehicles. However the police party chased both the vehicles up to Nonath Ashram. On checking the vehicles, police recovered 11 bovine animals from them. In this connection a case FIR No 48/2017 & 49/2017 U/S 188 RPC , 2/3 PCA Act, 179, 183, 184mv Act was registered by Ghagwal Police. The search has also been launched to arrest the drivers of the two vehicles who managed to escape. The operation was conducted under the close supervision of SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
